Beaudesert Rotary Eco Expo will be heavily promoting:

- Renewable and Sustainable energy

- Sustainable Eco Tourism

- Sustainable Wild life Tourism - Sustainable Flora and Fauna - Sustainable Land - Sustainable Business

- Sustainable Living

- Sustainable Gardening: Vegetable & Ornamental

- Major Projects on recycling - we will be promoted through all programs encouraging people to reduce, reuse, repair, recycle and rethink your daily actions. Schools and charity groups who have recycling programs are asked to jump between program co-ordinaters so the public can bring products to the eco expo OR contact suitable contacts with individual organizations concerning donations of goods. For example Gleneagle school who have a mobile phone recycling program. Rotary computers for kids will receive computers during the eco expo. Great bears of the world are looking for fake fur coats; plush material pre-loved and injured bears. Materials are to be used for children in distress.

- Trees for survival: will also be part of our overall program with part of the proceeds from the eco expo and individual fundraising from the eco expo will be directed to a project or projects in our local region.

Schools are being asked to put on disk environmental programs or activities. For example environmental plays, Revegetation and tree planting programs either at the school or by the school.

We plan to collect and put into a large disk and it is planned to show these on two large screens at the eco expo.

Activities and Programs mainly directed at students, general public are also welcome. Check out last year’s student program under the Education Section.

Check out programs on sustainability and how you can lower your carbon footprint.

Encouraging People to come dressed in costumes created by using general materials e.g. milk cartons, old fabric, and assorted containers.

Let your imagination run wild!

Beaudesert High School Band Will be performing on the night.

Guests are asked to bring:- Clean jars suitable for drinking out of and these will be later sold to people who make jams and chutney, Proceeds going to re-vegetation programs.

Plates and Cutlery we ask you to leave them and then they will they be given to a suitable charity.

Some of the Activities for the night will include presenting awards from the eco expo. Assorted entertainment, (e.g. Junk Band). Possible auctions of art and sculptures.

Food and Refreshments: Rotary ~ Food Van, Gleneagle PNC ~ Refreshment Van Country Health and Vitality ~ Supplying Organic Food and drinks.

WHAT CAN I DO THERE?

See equipment and learn about ways that you can help protect the environment. Listen to speakers and debates, view environmental projects and activities undertaken by the youth of the shire. Ask questions of government and company representatives and from the many environmental groups who will be there. A large variety food and refreshments will be available.

  

WHAT IS IT?

After weeks of preparation and thousands of student hours of work on environmental projects the Beaudesert Eco Expo will showcase their work and present two days of displays, demonstrations and discussions on environmental issues. The Beaudesert Eco Expo aims to develop awareness of how people can change their behaviour by providing the students, the general public and businesses with information on ways and means to help preserve planet earth - now and in the future.
